When will I receive my walker pack?

•	Walker packs will be sent out approximately 2 weeks prior to the event date

Question 2

Can I collect my walker pack?

Accepted Answer

•	No, all walker packs will be posted
•	Walkers are asked to donate £2 when registering to cover the cost of posting their pack to them. This cost is based on the price of postage and packaging

What’s Included in registration?

•	Entry to the event
•	T-shirt 
•	Walker number 
•	Route map 
•	Breakfast sandwich and hot drink at the finish line
•	Finisher’s certificate

Question 4

Why do I now have to pay for a medal?

Accepted Answer

•	We are always looking for ways to reduce waste and ensure more of the money you raise helps to support people who need us across Kirklees. That’s why we won’t be giving out medals as standard at the finish line this year.

Question 5

Why has the venue changed?

Accepted Answer

•	For various reasons this year we were no longer able to hold the event at The University of Huddersfield
•	This has opened up an opportunity for us to make the event even bigger and better than ever before at our impressive new venue of The John Smiths Stadium

Why has the time changed?

Accepted Answer

• We want the whole of Kirklees to join our walk this Summer – we recently did a survey to our supporters and many people said that an earlier start time would make it easier for them to take part
•	So  we’ve brought the start time forward to 10pm

Question 7

What time can I arrive and what time will entertainment start?

Accepted Answer

•	Registration will open and entertainment will begin at 8pm

Question 8

Where can I park?

Accepted Answer

•	Free car parking spaces are available at the venue.  This is on a first come first served basis. 
•	We, or the stadium, do not need to be notified of anyone using this car park. 
•	A car parking map will be included in the pre-event information

Question 9

What is a hare and tortoise?

Accepted Answer

•	The start will be staggered to avoid crowding
A hare is someone who expects to walk at a fairly quick pace and a tortoise is someone who wishes to take the walk at a steady pace. The Hares will set off first and the Tortoises will set off in the second wave

Question 10

How long will it take to complete?

Accepted Answer

•	The Walk can take anywhere between 1.5 to 4 hours to complete depending on the route chosen and a walker’s fitness levels etc.

Question 11

How long is the route?

Accepted Answer

•	Walkers can choose to do the 6 mile or 10 mile route. They can decide this on the night as the route will split at one point.

Where can I see the route?

Accepted Answer

•	Once the route is revealed, a route map will be available to download from our website. We will also be able to post this out if walkers require it. A copy will be sent in your walker pack 2 weeks prior to the event.

Question 13

Can I buy hoodies and Merchandise?

Accepted Answer

•	Limited edition hoodies can be purchased for £20 each via Eventbrite prior to the walk, or on the night.  These will be sent in walker packs where possible, 2 weeks prior to the event date.
•	Fancy dress and glow items will be available to buy on the night and all profits will come to The Kirkwood

Is there a minimum amount I need to raise?

Accepted Answer

•	There is no minimum sponsorship amount, all we ask is that you raise whatever you can. Your registration fee covers the cost of you taking part, so all sponsor money helps us to continue to support people across Kirklees
•	If you raise £125 or more, you will receive a free piece of exclusive merch
