Description

The Kitschies present: Adam Roberts and Claire North at Blackwell’s Holborn for the launch of Adam Robert’s new book The Real-Town Murders and the paperback of Claire North’s The End of the Day. Adam and Claire have both been Kitschies judges and Adam has appeared on the Kitschies shortlist twice. Join us to hear a discussion of all things scifi and fantasy, the inspiration behind their latest books and their lifetimes of writing.

About the authors...

Adam Roberts is commonly described as one of the UK's most important writers of SF. He is the author of numerous novels and literary parodies. He is Professor of 19th Century Literature at Royal Holloway, London University and has written a number of critical works on both SF and 19th Century poetry. Claire North is a pseudonym for British author Catherine Webb. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August was her first novel published under the Claire North name, and was one of the fastest-selling new SFF titles of the last ten years. It was selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club, the Radio 2 Book Club and the Waterstones Book Club promotions. Her next novel Touch was published in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim and was described by the Independent as 'little short of a masterpiece'. Catherine currently works as a theatre lighting designer and is a fan of big cities, urban magic, Thai food and graffiti-spotting. She lives in London. Find her on Twitter as @ClaireNorth42
