Curses have always been part of the language of magic. It is a way for people to speak their anger, their grief, or their sense of injustice into the world. From the clay tablets to whispered charms cast beneath the waning moon, curses have carried the energy of protection, power, and retribution. In times when the powerless had no other voice, a curse could become an act of resistance.

In this workshop, Rebecca Beattie will trace the history of curses, from how the curse has evolved from a tool of vengeance to a deeper understanding of magical accountability and the sacred balance between justice and compassion.

Workshop highlights:

  • Learn the history of curse and how they have evolved over time
  • Explore what it means to send harm into the world, and how that energy returns to us
  • Discover cursing as shadow work, combining anger with awareness, and of power with responsibility
