The Last Transit - Ford site memory sharing cafe
Fri 7 April 2017, 10:30 – 12:00 BST
Did you use to work at the Ford Assembly plant? Could you help us build a picture of the story of the site from its time as the home of Cunliffe Owen Aircraft, through the Ford years, to its present redevelopment into a logistics park?
We are inviting people with MEMORIES TO SHARE and people who would like to VOLUNTEER to help us collect those memories to drop in for a cuppa and find out more.
This is the first get-together for the Heritage Lottery funded community history project, TRANSITion. Come along and share your memories of working at Ford or your knowledge of the site's history. Over the coming weeks, we will be signing up a team of volunteers to research and gather content for a pop-up museum exploring Southampton's shift from making things to moving things through a focus on the ongoing story of the former Ford site.
The pop-up museum will launch in Easter 2018.
