Event Details

Sessions led by Graeme Reekie, Director, Wren & Greyhound

These workshops explore the principles and practices of sustainable organisations – and impact.  Each event is standalone but when taken collectively will add up to a coherent programme as whole.  Throughout the workshops, participants will work on their own sustainability challenges, with peer and facilitator support.  Using “The Lasting Difference” toolkit, delegates will be equipped to develop a robust sustainability plan for their organisation.

Delegates will gain:

  • Better understanding of sustainability and how to address it
  • Improved ability to plan for and take action on sustainability
  • Access to proven tools and approaches
  • Opportunities to develop sustainability plans, income generation and involvement strategies, and exit strategies where appropriate

Masterclass 2: Involvement, Innovation and Improvement

Is sustainability a destination or a journey? Do you sustain your work by protecting – or sharing it? Who does your work belong to? Based on the principle that ‘connection is protection’, this workshop will help participants involve internal and external stakeholders in making their organisations (and/or their impact) more sustainable.

Following Masterclasses:

Masterclass 3: Income Generation

4 September 10:00 - 14:00, Edinburgh

Drawing on theory and practical tools, this masterclass takes a strategic approach to income generation. Participants will be equipped to create a holistic income generation strategy based on understanding and meeting needs more effectively.

Masterclass 4: Impact Measurement and Exit Strategies

11 October 10:00 - 14:00, Glasgow

This workshop focuses on the role that organisational learning plays in sustainability. It will equip participants to better measure impact and develop organisational sustainability plans, and assess a range of exit strategies for their projects and services.

About the facilitator:

Graeme Reekie is a respected charity specialist with more than 25 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector. As Director of ‘Wren and Greyhound’ he has been developing research, consultancy and practical approaches to sustainability since 2012. This led to the publication of a unique toolkit called ‘A Lasting Difference’ in 2016, which now has over 2500 copies in circulation.
