Join the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and colleagues from across the region’s digital/tech sector for the launch of the North East LEP’s Digital for Growth – The North East’s Digital Strategy on Thursday 03 October at PROTO (www.proto.co.uk).
Find out more about the aim of Digital for Growth, how it fits with the North East Strategic Economic Plan, and how it will support the creation of more and better jobs in the region by focussing on four specific areas of activity. The event will also outline next steps and how attendees can support the delivery of Digital for Growth.
Guests are asked to arrive at 1:30pm for a 2pm start. The event will end around 4pm.
Agenda:
Hear from Richard Baker, Head of Strategy and Policy at the North East LEP, about the background and context to Digital for Growth.
Victoria Sutherland, Senior Economist at the North East LEP, will provide a summary of the digital sector and discuss its contribution to the North East economy and the delivery of the North East Strategic Economic Plan.
Laura Partridge, Digital Programme Lead at the North East LEP, will present the Digital for Growth in more detail and outline its four immediate areas of priority:
- Data
- Infrastructure and connectivity
- Digital collaboration and enterprise
- Workforce
A panel discussion, chaired by Stuart Lynn former Executive of the Sage Group and Founder of Tech North East, will explore each theme in more detail. Joining Stuart on the panel will be:
- Deni Chambers, Assistant Principal at Gateshead College
- Pete Daykin, founder of WordNerds
- Jamie Hardesty, Entrepreneur Engagement Manager at Tech Nation
- Laura Partridge, Digital Programme Lead at the North East LEP
- Steve Smith, Digital Infrastructure Programme Lead at North of Tyne Combined Authority
Questions from the audience will be invited.
