The event is the formal launching of Townhall Radio Station platform - a new dynamic online talk-show radio that informs, educates, entertains and mobilise for constructive social change in Nigeria and by extension Sub-Sahara Africa.

We are launching to coincide with the 65th anniversary of Nigerian Independence Day on October 1st, a celebration that never fails to underscore the monumental failed promises of the country and the enormity of the challenges for urgent re-direction and social change. It is an urgency that have inspired the mission of Townhall Radio towards mobilising for social change.

We aim to provide a proactive platform for informed progressive minds to critically analyse issues confronting the Nigerians and peoples of Sub-Sahara Africa with the view to articulating and documenting viable solutions to improve the living conditions and wellbeing of all. It is uniquely dedicated to articulating and documenting viable solutions to Nigerian/ African leadership and development problems at the nation-state level, local level and individual level as well as providing a voice to desperate victims of social injustice in Nigeria.

Our ‘Townhall’ name reflects our community consensus-oriented focus towards providing critical virtual Townhall space where relevant ideas are rigorously examined, debated, documented and shared. The event will mark the official launching of Townhall Radio as a new dynamic online platform to further the struggle for genuine social change that enables a more just and egalitarian society for all.
