The LegalEase Conference 2017
Wed 25 January 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 GMT
LegalEase is a legal awareness programme which aims to both raise the aspirations of young people from state schools and engage young people at risk of exclusion using the law. The programme makes the law more accessible and teaches participants to analyse the social issues that affect them using a legal lens. The programme allows us to start important conversations about youth violence with the young people most affected by it. This programme helps us to fulfill our aim of empowering people to take control of their lives and positively impact their communities.
The LegalEase Conference 2017 is the finale event for the LegalEase Tour 2016/2017 - providing a perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of all participating students. As part of the programme, participants worked in groups and developed a film to highlight their understanding of a criminal law topic taught on the programme. The conference will showcase youth-led films on joint enterprise, youth violence, knife & gun crime and stop and search. The event will also feature short talks, performances and a panel and Q&A session about stop and search.
