About this event
On 12 October 2000, Lewes experienced devasting floods when, after days of intense rain, the River Ouse burst its banks, inundating over 600 homes and 300 businesses in a matter of hours.
To reflect on this day, we invite flood professionals to join us on Friday 31st October, at Lewes Town Hall to immerse yourself in expert-led sessions delivered by emergency, environmental and local government professionals. They will explore what has gone before and what is needed today in flood response and recovery.
This event is an opportune moment to gather, remember and learn from the Lewes Floods through inspiring talks, lively panel discussions, and presentations.
Organised by Lewes Town Council in partnership with Friends of Lewes, Love Our Ouse and Lewes Climate Hub. See event page: Lewes Floods 25th Anniversary | Lewes Town Council
This is a free event but registration is required!
