About this event

Your school is warmly invited to join Exeter ICE at the LIFE Exhibition, a professionally
designed and produced exhibition based on the life of Jesus, which compliments the R.E.
curriculum. The exhibition will be taking place at Belmont Chapel, Exeter in from Tuesday 27th January to Thursday the 5th February 2026, and is free of charge to schools.

The LIFE exhibition is highly interactive, using tablets, graphic panels, quizzes, film and a
discussion café to give children the chance to explore the Gospel accounts for themselves. It supports the year 5 and 6 R.E curriculum modules of ‘Why do Christians believe Jesus is the Messiah?’ and ‘What do Christians believe Jesus did to ‘save’ people?’ and gives pupils the opportunity to draw lines between the Old and New Testaments in the Bible.

What does a visit to the LIFE Exhibition look like?
A visit to LIFE begins with everyone all together watching a video asking 'What do you know about Jesus?' We encourage the children to consider their existing knowledge and to have an attitude of exploration, discovering what else the Bible says about Jesus. The class is then divided into three groups to explore three zones in rotation and invited to ask themselves the question 'What do you think?' as they learn in each zone.

Zones
In each zone, the children have a time for discussion before breaking out into time on individual tablets to answer questions, watch videos and read parts of Jesus' story for themselves. The three zones are:

Life Line: In this zone pupils explore Jesus' timeline. Where does he fit in history, what were the predictions leading up to his birth and who was in his family tree?

Life Talks: In this zone pupils explore Jesus' words. What kind of things did he say, why are they important to people today and how did Jesus like to teach?

Life Works: In this zone pupils explore Jesus' miracles. What were his most famous miracles, why did he do them and what difference did they make to the people who experienced them?

Life Giver
After their time in the zones, the class regroups in the in the Life Giver tent to watch a video exploring Jesus' death and resurrection. We consider why the Easter story is so important to Christians and learn that different people have different answers to the question 'Who was he?' in regards to Jesus.

Discussion Cafe
At the end of our time together, we give children the chance to respond to everything they have learned with an interactive quiz. Pupils are given a drink and a remote control that allows them to vote along with the questions. They are given the opportunity to review their learning throughout the zones in life, and to consider their own thoughts and opinions based on the question 'Who was Jesus?'
