Event description
Alex will deliver a talk on his journey for the BBC documentary Before I Was An Orphan.

About this Event

Alex Kane is a weekly political columnist for both the News Letter and the Irish News, as well as contributing to a wide range of other newspapers and magazines across the UK and Ireland. He is also a regular commentator for the BBC, UTV and RTE. A former Director of Communications for the UUP he is now a fulltime freelance writer.

Last October he made a very well-received documentary--with producer Conor McKay-- for Radio Ulster, about his life before his adoption. Called, Before I Was An Orphan, the documentary used some material gathered from PRONI. Alex will be talking about that journey, what he has learned about himself and also what he has learned about orphanages in the late 1950s/early 1960s.
