The speaker, Tara Fisher describes her talk like this: “I will be giving a talk on the charity Marie Curie. I will be looking at the life of Marie Curie herself and her role as a scientist and a woman. Her career in the world of science was extraordinary, sitting side by side with Albert Einstein, among other things and winning Nobel prizes.

I will be talking about how and why the charity itself started and how it has developed over the years. It is a fascinating story on its own and then add in the volunteers that make it work and you have that extra human touch of their love for how they help the charity to survive. I speak as one of those volunteers, something I have never regretted.”
