Event description

Description

Join us in Westminster on 11th July as we consider the best ways to engage and motivate young people who are on the fringes of education.

We’ll be celebrating the achievements of some of the amazing young people who have been mentored through the award-winning VIP Mentoring programme over the past year.

We’re delighted that Dr Tim Coulson will be joining us to explore the role of alternative education in today’s changing landscape.

We also invite you to an exclusive Q&A session with Dr Coulson at 7.30pm. Tickets to this are strictly limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Guest speakers

Dr Tim Coulson

Regional Schools Commissioner for the East of England and North East London

A Regional Schools Commissioner since 2014, Dr Coulson is responsible for decisions relating to academies and free schools across the East of England, including converting schools to academies and supporting under-performing schools. In his career, he has previously been both teacher and head teacher, as well as the National Director of the National Numeracy Strategy.

Jon Cruddas

MP for Dagenham and Rainham

Jon Cruddas has served as Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham (LifeLine’s home) since 2001. He takes a keen interest in the young people who are educated with LifeLine and we are delighted that he is sponsoring this event.
