A lunch and learn event with Mary Glasgow

The Fairer Moray Forum is delighted that Mary Glasgow will be leading the second of their FREE lunch and learn events.

Mary will be discussing how poverty and adversity in childhood are linked, the recent understanding of ACEs research, the context in Scotland and the impact and links with poverty.

This will be an informal lunch session (bring your lunch) with plenty of opportunity for attendees to participate, take part in discussion and ask questions. Places are limited so please book early.

Mary grew up in Wester Hailes, a large housing scheme on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Her experience as a young person growing up in this community led to volunteering at a young age and then onto a career in social work. Mary worked as a social worker in Glasgow before moving to the third sector to develop community based family support services across the West of Scotland. Mary now leads Children 1st, Scotland’s National Children’s charity as the CEO. Mary is passionate about children’s rights and relationship based support for families so that they can stay together and safely care for their own children.
