About this event
Sing and dance to the music and choreography inspired by the West End production of The Lion King!
Take part in a creative African dance inspired warm-up, before taking on a hit ensemble number from the show.
Dancers will learn and perform new steps and sequences of choreography adapted to their level, working productively with other children to create a final performance piece.

Who can attend?
We recommend a minimum of 1 years dance experience in any dance style.
Tutor: Clare Palethorpe
Following graduation with a BA Hons Dance degree, Clare performed professionally as a dancer, singer and presenter within UK theatres and on International tours, along with television work.
Over the years her freelance career has led her to teach, choreograph and direct with companies and organisations such as the BBC, Youth Dance England, British Ballet Organisation, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre, along with 3 years working on the Cultural Olympiad leading up to the Olympics in 2012 as a dance artist and director on a number of projects.
Clare has recently been awarded with an honorary fellowship with the Associated Board of Dance, after writing and developing a brand new Contemporary Dance Syllabus and Associate Teacher Qualification (level 4 programme for teachers). Clare has also been heavily involved developing the Musical Theatre Syllabus Grades 1-5 with the British Ballet Organisation and awarded an honorary membership with the BBO, for her work over the last 3 years.
Clare delivers through the name, Rubix Dance, supporting dance within education, community settings and beyond, this involves delivering workshops and classes to all ages, providing teacher CPD and also supporting dance and creativity across primary, secondary and further education. Her work continues to see her travel across the UK and internationally, enabling her to develop her teaching and choreographical work.
