Engagement Excellence LiVE : The Living Wage
An independent study examining the business benefits of implementing a Living Wage policy in London found that more than 80% of employers believe that the Living Wage had enhanced the quality of the work of their staff, while absenteeism had fallen by approximately 25%.
The Living Wage Foundation, Keynote Speaker
At Engagement Excellence LiVE in October, Tess Lanning from the Living Wage Foundation will be joining us to discuss the move towards introducing a Living Wage for low-paid workforces. Tess will also be discussing the impact of it in the current economic climate both for business and society, and dispelling some of the myths surrounding it.
Taking a different stance on the topic we'll have Jimmy McLoughlin, Deputy Head of Policy at the Institute of Directors who will be joining us to share his views on the current discussions surrounding the Living Wage.
Also joining us is Claire Townson, Deputy Director of People at The Joseph Rowntree Foundation, an organisation working to inspire social change through research, policy and practice, and the only care provider who have implemented the Living Wage. Claire will be sharing her experience implementing the Living Wage, why it’s so important and the ROI successes businesses have seen from implementing it.
Finally, Robin Winstanley, Project Manager at IKEA will be sharing their story with us. With the recent announcement that IKEA are to become the first major retailer to adopt the Living Wage, Robin will be revealing why they chose to make this milestone movement, the internal process they had to go through, the response they've received from doing so and how it fits into IKEA's longer term strategy.
At a time where the gap between the cost of living and rates of pay has continued to widen, there is increasing pressure for businesses to raise wages. Join us at Engagement Excellence LiVE to learn more about the Living Wage and how it might impact you and your business.
Tickets are limited, so make sure you reserve yours in advance. A complimentary breakfast and lunch will also be provided at the event, giving you the opportunity to network with industry peers.
