Description
James Newton Chadwick is an English contemporary folk songwriter and performer. In 2006 he emerged on the national scene with a place at the BBC Young Folk Awards finals, described by host Mike Harding as "a lad I admire greatly myself, he writes brilliant songs."
The following year he was one of a number of artists who collaborated with Turner Prize-nominated artist David Shrigley on the album Worried Noodles. Among songs by David Byrne, Hot Chip and Franz Ferdinand, James's contribution was described as "unashamed folk' by The Sunday Times and 'gently melodic' by The Guardian.
This is a rare visit to the UK by the Amsterdam-based musician, and he will be joined for this Logboat Session by singer-songwriter Kerry Devine and members of the eclectic band Opaque.
