Description

THE LONDON KLEIST LECTURE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF GERMAN AT QMUL

Professor Dr. Werner Michler (University of Salzburg):

Kleist and Religion: Society, Gender, Genre

In his lecture, the second in the new series The London Kleist Lecture in the Department of German at QMUL, Professor Dr. Werner Michler will explore the intrinsic, and intriguing, connection between literary representations of society and gender in relation to Heinrich von Kleist's conception of religion. Professor Michler will approach this theme from the point of view of genre studies to which he contributed a landmark study in 2014.
