The London Night Photo Walk
Event Information
About this Event
London is a magical place after sunset with floodlit landmarks and towering office blocks. Learn how to get the best night time shots and get creative with long exposure photography, light trails and intentional camera movement.
We start out walk at Wren's magnificent St Paul's and then make our way down to the River to capture London's skyline reflected in the Thames and many notable landmarks such as The Shard, the Millennium Bridge, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, St Katherine's Dock and the City of London. Time permitting we'll take a trip to Diagon Alley, The Gerkin and Lloyd's of London.
This is a great time to photograph the river as the bridges crossing the Thames are part of a long-term art installation "Illuminated River": a scheme to light up 14 bridges of central London.
Our night time walk runs from December to the evening before the start of British Summer time (28th March 2021). Please note that due to the change in sunset times in Dec/Jan the start time will be 5pm and in Feb/Mar, 6pm.
For more information please visit our website here.
The meeting place is outside St Paul's underground station (Central line).
In addition to your camera (a wide angle to short telephoto lens would be best), a tripod (I will have a couple with me should you need to borrow one) is essential and if your camera does not have a self timer, a remote cable release is recommended.
