Speaker 1:
Stephen Christmas "Financing a Greener Future"
Stephen from Octopus Capital will be sharing how they’re using finance to accelerate the transition to greener, more socially responsible housing.
He’ll introduce the Greener Homes Alliance 2 — a powerful partnership with Homes England offering discounted development loans to housebuilders who go beyond just EPC ratings and deliver real ESG impact.
Octopus Capital also provides a range of funding solutions — from development and bridging finance to refurbishment and buy-to-let products — all designed with flexibility and sustainability in mind.
Speaker 2:
Oliver Hall, CEO of Eastway Homes — a developer who's built his business from the ground up, quite literally.
Oliver has delivered multiple 15–25 unit housing schemes and more recently pivoted into the HMO space, applying the same entrepreneurial mindset to this fast-moving sector.
In his session, he’ll share insights on raising finance, navigating planning, finding the right sites, and partnering with investors — all while still building on two live projects.
He also recently appeared on a BBC panel, speaking out about the planning system and how it’s failing to support the government’s housing targets — especially for smaller developers like himself.
