An online talk with Dr Jessica Borge author of Protective Practices. A History of the London Rubber Company and the Condom Business

About this event

From 1939 until the 1990s The London Rubber Company was based on the North Circular Road where Costco stands today. By the 1950s they were the largest employer in Chingford.

Dr Jessica Borge FRHistS is an interdisciplinary researcher in the field of contemporary British history, with a specialism in the intersection of business, society and media. She has published on the history of television, medicine and public relations. Jessica is a visiting fellow in digital humanities at School of Advance Study, University of London, and is a research associate at King’s College London Archives and the Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives. Her book, Protective Practices. A History of the London Rubber Company and the Condom Business is published by McGill-Queen’s University Press. For more information, see www.londonrubbercompany.com.
