Lookout by Andy Field and Beckie Darlington is a one-to-one encounter for one adult audience member and one child performer, in which the pair stand looking out over the streets and buildings of the town the show takes place in and have a conversation about its future. It's happening in Crawley from 28th - 30th April 2022.

Part of the aim of presenting show at this moment in time is to begin a conversation about the future of our towns and cities after the pandemic, and importantly, to enable children to not just be a part of that conversation but to lead it.

Because by its nature Lookout is a private and fleeting experience for audience members, we have decided to host a more public meeting alongside the performance itself, to bring together the performers and a range of audience members and stakeholders to reflect on some of the ideas raised by the show.

We want this meeting to be a friendly and informal space in which the children involved can share their experiences of the show and answer questions from attendees and where civic leaders and other audience members who attended the show might have a chance to respond to the children’s visions of the future.

We see this as an opportunity to potentially channel some of the hope and idealism of the children’s work into possible actions and outcomes that could benefit the whole city.
