About This Month's Host
We’re thrilled to kick off this series with Sophia McDermott, a seasoned tech leader with over 20 years of experience and a passionate advocate for inclusion. Starting her career on the service desk, she’s advanced through technical and leadership roles across Media, Finance, Government, and SaaS, and now leads global teams as Senior Manager of Release Management.
As a Global ERG Leader for Black employees, Sophia works closely with DEIB teams to elevate Black voices and foster allyship. She’s deeply committed to increasing Black women’s representation in leadership and raising awareness of diverse, non-coding career paths in tech.
A recent graduate of the Oxford Women in Leadership programme, Sophia continues to grow as a changemaker. She’s also a trustee of a domestic violence charity, a proud mother, and a creative at heart with a love for interior design.
