The Main Event: Netball (featuring the £1000 Half-Time Challenge)

The Main Event is all about creating a brilliant match-day atmosphere, with music, hot drinks, giveaways, and plenty of energy as we get behind our team.

This week also features our £1000 Half-Time Centre Circle Challenge - one throw, one chance to win big.

Fixture Details:

• Date: Wednesday, 3rd December
• Time: 13:00 Centre Pass
• Location: Sports Hall, Pleasance
• Tickets: Free

Half-Time Challenge: £1000 Centre Circle Throw

At half-time, three participants will step onto court and attempt the ultimate long-range shot from the centre circle. Score, and you'll walk away with £1000. No warm-up, no second chances - just one throw to become our Half-Time Hero.

Terms & Conditions

(1) Promoter

• The promoter of this competition is University of Edinburgh Sport, referred to in these Terms & Conditions as “the Promoter”.

(2) Eligibility

• Participants must be aged 18+ on the date of the event.
• Participants must be present at the venue during half-time when the challenge takes place.
• The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of age or identity.

(3) How Participants Are Chosen

• Three (3) participants will be selected via random draw (on site at the event).
• If a selected participant does not present themselves when called, the Promoter may choose an alternative replacement participant at its discretion.

(4) Challenge Rules

• Each participant will have one (1) attempt to successfully shoot a netball into the regulation netball hoop from a designated marked position.
• Only one throw is permitted. No practice shots are allowed.
• The attempt must be completed within the time limit given by the event host.
• A successful attempt is defined as the ball passing fully through the hoop without assistance, obstruction, or interference.
• The Promoter’s officials will determine whether a shot is valid and their decision is final.

(5) Prize

• A successful participant will win £1,000.
• If more than one participant is successful, each successful participant will receive £1,000.
• The prize is non-transferable and will be paid within 90 days of the event.
• No alternative prize will be offered.

(6) Winner Requirements

• Winners may be required to provide contact details for prize fulfilment.
• Winners may be asked to verify their ID.
