Dr Alison Evans and Pamela Duckerin:

Mindfulness-Based Supervision/Mentoring as a mutual endeavour: supporting your active engagement as a supervisee/mentee from beginner through to experienced mindfulness practitioner

Drawing upon their work over many years, Alison and Pamela present their framework and offer a space for exploring ways of making the most of your supervision/mentoring. Sometimes, just the word ‘supervision' can be off-putting, suggesting particular power dynamics. They will speak about aspects of the supervisory relationship based on their recent book and paint a picture of how the relationship can be more like having a friendly guiding hand, whether the focus is on your personal practice, beginning to share mindfulness with others, facilitating mindfulness workshops, or teaching specific curricula. As a supervisee/mentee, you are an active learner and part of the process. Opportunities for reflection and dialogue will be threaded through the session.

In this event for supervisees/mentees the learning intentions are:

1. To understand the scope of what mindfulness-based supervision/mentoring could include.

2. To explore the ‘mutual’ aspect of the process, including safety and inclusion.

3. To explore your needs and ways of communicating them.

Alison and Pamela are co-authors of the recent publication Mindfulness-Based Supervision and Mentoring: Using an embodied dialogue to support learning and reflection. They have been facilitating mindfulness-based supervision training together since 2019 through the Mindfulness Network.

Alison is currently the supervision lead at the Mindfulness Network and one of their team of supervisors. Mindfulness-based supervision has been a core part of her work for many years- supervising, training others to supervise, reflecting, researching and writing about it.

Pamela is part of the supervision team within the Mindfulness Network and offers supervision to mindfulness practitioners worldwide. She has worked in the field of mental health for 41 years and alongside direct clinical work, clinical supervision has been a significant part of her work.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Our online events can count towards your BAMBA CPD hours.

Can’t join live? Don’t worry: The webinar will be recorded, and a replay will be sent to all ticket holders.

Tickets are just £10, or £5 for those attending the in-person Manchester Mindfulness Festival. If that’s you, please use promo code MMFONLINE when booking (we're counting on your honesty, thank you!). Kindly note: These events are also fundraisers to help us cover costs for the in-person festival.

The ZOOM link will be on your Order Confirmation email and will also be sent by reminder email a couple of days before the online event.
