About this event

The Hertfordshire Marketing Meetup is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Hertfordshire to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another. Come in 'listen' not 'sell' mode 🙂

We'll be returning to the lovely Sherrards Solicitors offices for this one. We just want to get together, say hello, have a chat, and have a nice time.

Think of this as a community event, where the focus is very much on you meeting other people in a chilled out friendly space. We’ll chat over food and drink, listen to an inspirational speaker or two, chat some more, and go home buzzing with new contacts and new ideas.

Let’s have a lovely night in the company of some amazin’ people.

--------------------

Speakers: Sophie Skilton, Digital Marketing Manager at Wagada Digital and Louise Major, Freelance Marketing Specialist

Topic: How to market through a recession

The times they are a changin, and boy do Marketers feel this especially!

We are super lucky to have two brilliant speakers on this tricky topic.

Louise is the co-founder of Igloo Creative and will be known and loved by many people in the room. With hands on experience of both the creative and the sales environment, Louise fully understands the challenges companies face in delivering their message both creatively and verbally, and the impact the recession has on all of this too. She will be sharing some tips for us to help us through.

We’ll then hear from Sophie Skilton from Wagada Digital (our sponsors) who will be discussing ‘Employer branding when times are tough’. Sophie’s talk provides synergy between our guest speaker and the world of digital marketing, but through the lens of employer branding. Helping those in the room to understand how best to attract and retain talent when times get tough.

Join Louise, Sophie and the team at Wagada (our amazing sponsors) and TMM Herts hosts Sophie & Abby at the Sherrards office for pizza, beer (and soft drinks), and the opportunity to network with positively lovely people who ‘get Marketing’.

Expect a fun, interactive and thought-provoking session.

And finally...

This is a donation ticketed event. The ticket price is yours to choose, from £3 to £30 :)

We of course understand that these are tough times, so if you are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford the minimum donation amount, please reach out to el@themarketingmeetup.com and we’ll find a ticket for you (provided capacity hasn't already been reached!) 🙂

Please let your marketing friends and colleagues know about this group too, I hope to build it into a great resource for the community over the coming months and years. Attendance will be taken at this event. If you sign up but don’t show up, this has a knock on effect on event arrangements. If it happens 3 times, you’re outta here! This is simply a measure to allow appropriate respect to the organisers, speakers, sponsors, and your fellow community members 🙂

See you there!

As well as these things, we also believe where possible we should be eco-conscious, try to get a 50/50 male/female in our speakers, and be welcoming to anyone who wishes to enter our community. We are ultimately a community of ideas, not job titles.
