Event description

Description

Maryhill Heritage Choir have created melodies from 19th century poetry in our archive which tell stories of Maryhill and its community from 1822 - 1905. Hear the poems come to life in our celebration of local arts, culture and heritage at Maryhill Burgh Halls.

Join us for performances, arts workshops and more!

1.30pm - 3.30pm on Saturday 9th December

Free and all welcome!

Tea, coffee and soft drink refreshments available.

The songs have also been produced as a songbook which will be available to purchase on the day.

This exciting project which uncovers more of Maryhill's little known history was grant aided by Creative Scotland.

Special thanks to Maeve Mackinnon, singer songwriter and tutor of the Maryhill Heritage Choir.

Heartfelt thanks to Bill Black, Hamish Maxwell Stewart, Maryhill Heritage Choir, Innes Watson for transcription and Joyce Harkin for her fantastic proof-reading.
