The Max Weaver lecture

By Law Division, London South Bank University

Overview

“Does my Bot have rights?” and other curious questions about AI and Human Organoids

Join our LSBU community to celebrate the outstanding contribution of Max Weaver to the teaching and learning of law at London South Bank University. Max was instrumental in establishing the law degree and the law department at LSBU (then Southbank Polytechnic) in 1972. Over the years, his research and teaching has touched the lives of many.

Featuring our guest keynote speaker Dr Joshua Jowitt

Josh is a legal theorist whose research forms part of the contemporary secular natural law tradition. His work considers the problem of how the interests of nonhuman entities are protected in law. His discussion will consider the legal status of human organoids and how such issues might relate to AI.

and we might then even let Max have a word or two

refreshments will then be available as you find time to meet up with friends or make some new ones
