Donald Trump turned American politics on its head. He left the media bemused about what to do about a President who constantly lied. Jon Sopel, then the BBC’s North America editor, was at the forefront of this battle. In this exclusive Media Society event Jon talks about his experiences of covering the tumultuous politics of the White House. What lessons do we need to learn for next time when Trump may again be the candidate?

How to connect to the Zoom meeting: Besides the ticket confirmation sent by Eventbrite, Zoom will send a series of confirmation emails. These will contain a 'one-click' link giving access to the online event. Access is gained by a meeting number and passcode which will be embedded in this link, which should not be shared with others as it is unique to the ticket holder. You will be able to join the online event from a PC, Mac, laptop, tablet, iPad, iPhone or an Android device.
