WHY DID THE POLLSTERS GET IT WRONG AT THE 2015 ELECTION?WILL THEY GET IT WRONG AGAIN IN THE EURO REFERENDUM
Until 21.59 on May 7th 2015 Ed Miliband was destined for Downing Street or so he thought.David Cameron had drafted a resignation speech just in case.The United Kingdom was destined for a Hung Parliament or so the opinion pollsters had told us for months.
They were simply wrong as the broadcasters exit poll at 22.00 and the actual results showed.
David Cameron is now Prime Minister with a majority in the Commons.
What went so awry with the polls,should they ever be trusted again especially with the EU Referendum due imminently.
Join a small panel including;
Peter Kellner Former President Yougov
Professor John Curtice(tbc)
Matt Singh;the one pollster who got 2015 right
Megan Lucero Data Editor The Times and Sunday Times who did too
and a politician whose future(or not) depended on the polls
to examine the runes of the pollsters and ask 'Just where did they go wrong' and 'will they do it again'?
