The Medway Heron Trail Ride is an annual cycling event, now in its 4th year (formally known as The Mayor's Ride). It follows the Heron Trail (National cycle Route 179) which provides a combination of rural and maritime interest, with spectacular views of the River Medway and River Thames.
The trail is approximately 16 miles long and is for those who wish to ride at a steady pace throughout. This is not a competitive ride, but is about enjoying the route and of course the views along the way.
If you would like to use this event as an opportunity to raise money for charity, please feel free to do so. The Mayor of Medway is supporting the Christians Against Poverty Charity, which is an organisation that helps over 29,000 people per year with debt help. If you would like to support this, you can donate directly through their website at www.capuk.org (any donations is used nationally) or if you would like your donation to be used for the Medway area only, please donate via The Mayor's Charity by sending a cheque to Mayor’s Parlour, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR (cheques made payable to The Mayor's Charity), however there is no obligation to do so.
Come and join us! Once you have completed the ride, you'll be awarded with your very own certificate and medal!
For 18 years and over.
