THE MEE CLUB WORKSHOP - TRUE LIFE STORYTELLING

When ordinary people stand up and tell true tales about their lives, the honesty, humour, warmth and vulnerability and sadness in those stories makes a human connection unlike any other art form. 'The Mee Club' champions the craft of this true-life storytelling, drawing people together through the telling of tales. Cat Weatherill, 'one of our great storytellers' (Michael Morpurgo, 'War Horse' author), leads a fun and unpretentious personal storytelling workshop between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 28th April. Ideal for anyone tempted by the idea of telling a true-tale but who does not know where to begin, looking at how to find your story, shape it, and present it.

Workshop participants then have the chance to tell their story to a live audience in the book shop at 6pm. It will be a small, informal event with a supportive audience - a perfect place for sharing!

To book your place on the workshop please purchase at 'ticket' on this eventbrite page.

Cat is a playful and inspiring workshop leader who likes to create a safe, supportive atmosphere where people can laugh and learn together. “Being with Cat is like swallowing sunshine” Charlie Jordan, BBC radio presenter and poet

'I have seen Cat telling such a variety of tales in such varied venues they have always made me laugh, cry or left me reflective about the world we live in, or indeed the world we would like to live in.' Public nomination, British Awards for Storytelling Excellence
