The Melting Pot Gathering: A space for unheard voices to reshape the future

Born from a series of conversations earlier this year, this gathering creates space to:

  • share lived experiences from working-class and other under-represented creative perspectives;
  • listen, heal and connect through creative practice; and
  • build momentum for collective action and more equitable futures in culture.

Expect a day of story circles, creative workshops, reflective dialogue, and collaborative action-planning — designed to connect those who rarely find themselves in the same room.

This isn’t a conference. It’s a self-organising space for truth-telling, imagination and solidarity — for those leading cultural work from the grassroots, the margins, and everywhere in between.

Please note that this gathering is entirely voluntary and run in good faith. No one will be paid to facilitate or attend, and we’re deeply grateful to Coventry University for offering the space in-kind.

Places are free but limited.

Access Information

Delia Derbyshire building has a flat-level entrance from the street, with lifts to the first floor in the atrium. We will be located in the Enterprise Room (1st Floor) and Amy & Keith will be around in the atrium entrance area to meet and greet you on arrival from 11:40am onwards.

The Enterprise Room is light and airy with windows overlooking the campus. There will be chairs, tables, flipchart, pens, post-its and whiteboard (with laptop connection) available. Wifi will also be available.

There is a cafe on the ground floor selling hot & cold drinks, cakes and snacks. You are welcome to purchase lunch there, or, bring along your own food and drink.

The nearest car park is located on Far Gosford Street, pay and display at the machine or via multiple parking apps, including Ringo. The train station is approximately 20 minutes walk to campus through the city centre. Local buses serve the city centre and the bus station is a 10 minute walk. There is a bicycle rack located outside the front of the building.
