About this event
The Memoir Workshop
Since embarking upon my memoir a good number of years ago, it has been my goal to run a number of workshops to enable others to consider writing theirs.
With the publication of mine during August 2025, that time has now come 😊
My hunch had always been that putting a memoir together would enable a number of things for me. These range from making sense of my life to date, to feeling the release that comes through “telling my story.”
The effect was almost instantaneous. Releasing my story as a trilogy, with each book uploaded about a week apart, mercifully gave me a gentle ramp into the near euphoria that followed. I walk that little bit taller. I have back an energy that I have not felt for some considerable time.
So there is a large part of me that wants to bottle the effect and hand it to anyone who would like it, or who needs it.
Recently discovering a course being run at Newton Dee entitled: Biographical Counselling, now makes complete sense to me and I shall soon explore possibly joining a future cohort.
In the interim, I now feel wholly suited to running a workshop in which to support and enable others wishing to “tell their story.”
This workshop will be an optimal blend of:
- A Memoir Workbook
- Excerpts from the Art of Writing Memoir by Natalie Goldberg
- A treatise on how I put a memoir together
