Event description

Description

In 1986 Brad Brown was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and as part of his determination to get well again, he spent some months on a boat in San Francisco Bay. As you might expect from the founder of More To Life he did his work and he looked after his body, and he became well again. In the course of this retreat time, he came to some significant awareness of how the issues of self esteem affect our bodies and minds, and also arrived himself at a renewed energy to support and promote MTL students.

The result was The Power Of Self Esteem (then known as Self Esteem Enhancement) and the birthing of the Mentor Programme, in which he espoused his trust of MTL students to take this work out into the world. In 1987, the UK Programme was also undergoing some change in itself, and he decided to start the whole project in London.

We were honoured then, and can still be grateful now, that he trusted us in this way. Do please come to a celebration of 30 years of the Mentor Programme, where we can acknowledge many of the amazing things that Mentors have achieved in this time, as well as enjoying a really free, connecting and joyful party!
