How do you manage a team and yourself?
Do you have a life outside of work when work for yourself?
How important is a life outside of work… Really?

We talk openly (with the help of some cocktails) about the work/life balance, the pros and cons and whether work or life outside of it should spark joy.

The Method is a monthly gathering of freelancers, side hustlers and those who work for themselves to meet, network and beat the loneliness that can happen when you work for yourself; in a safe, intimate environment to help identify the method to your madness.

It is woven in Methodical’s DNA that finding your tribe is a huge part of being productive and we want to help you find yours, with us.

Each month we discuss a topic that affects those who are thinking of, have taken the leap or are in the deep throws of going out on your own; demystifying the world of self-employment and business, through humour, honesty and cocktails.

About Us

Portrait - Lucinda - Methodical

Having worked in buying for over seven years’ and suffering from burnout as a result, Lucinda (a dedicated stationery nerd and list obsessive) decided to start Methodical to help others get organised through stationery, writing and self-care.

Methodical is more than a productive stationery supply store, it’s about helping you understand what motivates you to work and using that as the boost, allowing you to work to live, not the other way around.

Charley Harrison - Totally Tailored - Methodical

Charley Harrison had about every tour guide job imaginable, on the London open-top buses to being an official BBC guide to leading large groups of american teenagers across Europe. In 2016, she set up her own tour company, with the simple thought, 'this can be done better'. Totally Tailored is a company for those who want to do sightseeing without being consolidated into large groups or waiting on buses or hearing content that doesn't interest them.

They organise private guides and drivers to pick up guests from their hotels, and deliver an itinerary 'totally tailored' to their pace, interests and style. They have hosted over 4000 guests and have over 200 tripadvisor reviews, all of which are 5 star.

Now covering Scotland as well as the London area, her aim to go global and make 'Totally Tailored' the Best Tour Company in the world.

Electra Japonas - The Law Boutique - Methodical

Electra Japonas is founder and CEO of The Law Boutique (TLB).
She founded TLB to bring law into the 21st century by disrupting the legal market with affordable tech-focused client solutions.

Electra has grown TLB in just over 12 months into a business serving over 200 SMEs who expect modern delivery of legal expertise.

Jade Cooper Collins - Jade Cooper Collins Design - Methodical

Jade is an editorial graphic designer and art director with an unhealthy obsession with plants. Currently Art editor at Superdrug's Dare magazine, She has previously worked on titles for Tesco, National Express and more recently health and wellbeing magazine Balance. Jade is also the co-founder and creative director of Cellardoor magazine in her sparest of time. When she's working you can usually find her at brunch, scrolling through Instagram or with her nose in a new magazine.
