Online event
Join us to share your experiences of social care with other carers. If you're paid or unpaid and provide care for someone, this is for you!
About this event
Care workers, carers and members of the social care system who work with people in need of care have been the unsung heroes of the Covid-19 crisis. Let's get together, share our experiences and find ways to share our story with others.
Join us on zoom (link to follow when you've signed up) on Thursday 22 October at 4pm to meet and share stories with others in your community.
Who is organising this event?
We at Future Care Capital are a charity which campaigns to change the health and social care system to meet the needs of our evolving society. We want to hear about your experiences and share them with policymakers so we can change things.
We want to create a space to listen to you and what you’ve found and hear about any useful solutions and new ways of working you’ve come across during this crisis.
This is part of a series of events we're organising and we want to hear from people in Middlesbrough and its surrounding areas.
Who is this workshop for?
If you're a carer, care worker or work in the wider social care system, this event is for you.
You are going to meet other carers and care workers, both paid and unpaid, who have carried on through the pandemic. You’ll hear what worked and what didn’t. And you’ll hear about areas people are still struggling with.
What will we discuss?
This online event is for about all the things we're experiencing right now in social care. We recognise most of this will be Covid-related, but much of it might not be. This includes:
• How this crisis has affected you and those around you: your health and wellbeing, your relationships, your views on the future
• Pay and working conditions, staff turnover, your experiences using PPE
• New ways of working – what's worked, what hasn't
• What we need from policymakers in local and national government
• You thoughts on the social care system and what needs to change
Why attend?
You'll have your story heard by campaigning charity and you'll meet like minded people.
How do I get started?
Sign up to the event and you'll be sent joining instructions for the Zoom event as well as reminders on when it takes place.
Tell your story. Help us understand how the crisis and the care system has impacted you.
