PICKLED & FERMENTED VEGETABLES- HOW TO MAKE AND EAT THEM

One of the biggest questions I get asked is “How do I eat these”- in this class you will learn make your very own homemade vinegar brine pickle and make the start of a lecto-ferment to take home to finish, but I hope to also encourage and suggest how to incorporate theses into your everyday meals.

Your host Kylee Newton, owner of Newton&Pott and author of The Modern Preserver, will take you through the process of making her Gin Pickled Cucumber and a red Cabbage Sauerkraut, how to give your fruit and vegetables longevity and all the health benefits they can have to your everyday diet.

We'll talk about the importance of preserving food, why it came about and go through good sterilization practice for longer lasting preserves.

The class is a relaxed hands-on session in Newton&Pott's production kitchen in Hackney, teaching you how to make artisanal treats which you get to take home to eat or to gift to friends- it’s designed to give you the confidence with home preserving in your own kitchen.

There will be an opportunity to buy Newton&Pott products on the day and purchase a copy of Kylee’s book The Modern Preserver, so bring a tote bag to bring all your makings and purchases home with you.
