LEARN HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE SEASONAL GLUT WITH JAM AND PICKLES

Learn to make the most out of September’s seasonal glut by making sweet and sharp preserves with your host Kylee Newton, founder of Newton&Pott and author of The Modern Preserver.

In this class we discover what’s in season make best fruit jams. We cover good sterilization practices for the home and for longer lasting preserves while discovering the chemistry reaction which makes a jam set (one of the hardest of all of the preserves to perfect).

We’ll look at making the most of saving the seasons vegetable’s as well by preparing a vinegar brine pickle and chat about quick and easy ways to eat them with everyday meals.

Our classes are relaxed hands-on sessions in Newton&Pott’s production kitchen in Hackney, teaching you how to make artisanal treats which you get to take home to eat or to gift to friends. It’s designed to give you the confidence with home preserving in your own kitchen.

The Modern Preserver Books will be for sale as well as a range of Newton&Pott’s chutney’s, jams and pickles.
