Description

Following the acclaimed success of the original London open evening, we are delighted to bring MS Connection exhibition event to the North West.

*Whilst many people have felt lonely at some point, MS Society research found that as many as six in 10 people with multiple sclerosis (60%) feel lonely because of their condition – that’s 12 times the figure for the general population*

Being shown in Cheadle, Stockport, ‘The MS Connection’ exhibition explores the impact of loneliness and isolation on people living with MS, telling the stories behind that statistic, coupled with personal insights of what it is like to have or care for somebody with MS, and the devastation it often causes to those affected.

Back in December of last year, the MS Society together with photographer Louis Browne at WMA and Mumford and Sons bassist Ted Dwane, spoke to 19 people from across the UK, all affected by MS in some way. These photographs tell us the reality of life with a chronic condition, and the different roles that loneliness and isolation can play. They also uncover the strategies people have used to take on these challenges and in some cases overcome them.

All are welcome, whether you are a person living with MS, a family member, friend, carer or just interested and would like to know more!

The MS Society offers a whole host of support, including a free helpline, information, grants and local groups. We hope ‘The MS Connection’ will encourage more people affected by MS to learn more, get in touch, and join the fantastic community that’s out there!
