Set in a fictional Joseon where sijo (a poetic form) was forbidden, this work tells the story of brave people who cried out for freedom against an absurd world. Blending the traditional genre of sijo with rap and hip-hop, its original staging earned multiple awards at the 5th Korea Musical Awards (2021), including Best Musical, Best New Actor, and Best Choreography.
Swag Age in Concert, a 60-minute highlight version of the original production, will make its West End debut at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on Monday, September 8, and ahead of the performance, a special talk event will be held at the Korean Cultural Centre at 2.30 pm on Sunday, 7 September. This event will feature members of the creative team and lead cast, offering insights into the making of the production, along with screenings of highlight clips and musical numbers.
