The Narcissist & The Empath: Two Archetypes w/ An Interesting Relationship

The words narcissist and empath usually reside at opposite sides of a divide. Narcissists are selfish and manipulative. Empaths are giving and caring.

But no archetype is one thing or the other - each have light and shadow. Children need a healthy dose of narcissism to establish self-esteem and confidence . They also need strong boundaries lest their empathy make them overwhelmed or fearful.

Without discernment and nuance, healthy narcissists can become bullies, and healthy empaths can become martyrs. Join me as we shed light on this whole dynamic.
