ABOUT THE EVENT

The Nature of Colombia through the lens of Wildlife Documentaries:

It’s no wonder that those with a passion for natural history filmmaking are drawn to Colombia - It’s a true land of superlatives; the second most biodiverse country in the world, home to 10% of all species on Earth, more birds and more orchids than any other nation. Its landscapes stretch from frozen glaciers to tropical beaches, dense rainforests to arid desert, an unparalleled variety of habitats to which few other places compare.

Join Andrew for a talk discussing the Nature of Colombia, its wildlife, science and conservation, and hear about his experiences documenting wildlife in some of Colombia’s most remote and untouched places - From helicopter landings onto the top of Chiribiquete, the sistine chapel of the Amazon, to filming Cordyceps fungus in the rainforests of the Magdalena Medio and much more.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

A half British half Colombian Natural History Filmmaker, Andrew Moorwood has spent over 15 years documenting natural world. As a producer, director and occasional camera operator he’s filmed across 5 of the 7 continents and worked on landmark wildlife series for major broadcasters, including Hostile Planet for National Geographic, Tiny World for Apple TV, A Year on Planet Earth for ITV and Colombia: Magia Salvaje a feature film.

Across all these projects there is one country he’s returned to more than any other… Colombia.
