This free online session is designed for those working with preschool children with Down syndrome. The session will focus on the importance of working on speech, language, and communication in the early years. It will cover some strategies you can implement in your preschool setting and the information, activities and support available through DSUKs Early Years Development Programme.

The webianr will cover:

  • An introduction to the Early Years Development Programme (EYDP)
  • The need for communication support from the very beginning
  • Types of communication supports (such as signing, use of pictures etc)
  • Strategies to promote speech intelligibility and clarity
  • Activities to develop understanding and the use of language
