What are the opportunities and challenges to Nottingham around the journey to net zero?
Join E.ON, University of Nottingham and Marketing Nottingham & Nottinghamshire to discuss the opportunities and challenges for Nottingham around the journey to net zero.
E.ON is the playmaker in the energy transition and we make sure everything we do is focused on our customers at home, in business and across entire towns and cities. As part of the E.ON Group, we are one of the foremost energy companies in the world and we have been a driving force behind the UK’s renewable revolution for more than 30 years.
It's on us to make new energy work and we offer a wide range of efficient and smart technologies to help customers at home and in business to reduce their impact on the planet by using less energy and even generating and storing it themselves
We are also offering optional tours after the event to visit the new Zero Carbon Innovation Centre on campus (limited spaces on first come first served basis):
Zero Carbon Innovation Centre
Launched in March 2025, the new Zero Carbon Innovation Centre (ZCIC) is an innovation gateway for industry to access the East Midlands region’s research strengths and fast-track zero carbon transport technologies to market.
Launched through new investments from East Midlands Freeport, Research England, University of Nottingham and Loughborough University, the centre will deliver innovation in transport technology, green hydrogen production, and power solutions for industry and create jobs for the regional economy.
The ZCIC deepens the university’s research and development (R&D) and manufacturing partnerships to help industries to decarbonise across aerospace, automotive, marine, rail, off-highway and energy sectors. For more information, visit: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/zero-carbon/home.aspx
