Overview
Innovate UK’s £60 million Net Zero Living Programme is helping UK places overcome non-technical barriers to climate action, unlocking investment, engaging communities, and scaling local net zero solutions.
Join this webinar series to hear key insights from seven Net Zero Living Programme Demonstrator projects, showcasing impact, lessons learned, and how this work can be replicated and scaled across the UK and beyond.
The Pathfinder Demonstrator project presentations will explore:
· How to do net zero faster and avoid duplication
· Project successes and lessons learned
· How their work can be replicated
· How projects are scaling their initiatives
Session 1: How net zero benefits people
Climate delivery without legitimacy is slow, fragile and contested. But participation, done well, builds the mandate to act. It unlocks trust, aligns internal priorities, and ensures climate action meets real local needs.
By positioning climate action as a strategic enabler, councils can address long-standing challenges and deliver cleaner, fairer and more prosperous communities. It becomes a practical tool for unlocking investment, improving lives and creating the conditions for local success.
This webinar will demonstrate how The Net Zero Living Programme places are making this shift, and putting people’s needs at the heart of climate action.
