About

In a time of deep change, leadership is evolving. More than ever, we need leaders who can create cultures of care and interconnectedness, where people feel safe to think, speak, grow.

Right now:

  • 90% of the UK workforce is disengaged (Gallup, 2024)
  • 74% of adults have felt too stressed to cope in the last yearAnd mental health referrals for young people have surged, with suicide the second leading cause of death in 20–24-year-olds
  • A recentl study by Mental Health First Aid and Henly Business School found a 25% drop in the number of people who feel they can "bring their whole self to work" over the past 5 years
  • Managers tend to overestimate the level of psychologically safety their employees experience

We are not just facing individual burnout, we are facing a cultural fracture in how we lead, support, and connect.

This reflective and discussion based workshop invites you to explore leadership through a more human, holistic lens.

Listening to the three key speakers, Juliette, Jack and Andrea, you will learn how to create psychological safety, support nervous system regulation (yours and others) and lead from a place of grounded awareness

This masterclass is for those who hold pace for others formally and informally and want to lead with greater care, clarity and connection. On the whole it offers a fresh take leadership through the holistic lens.

What to expect

Session 1: Creating Safe Spaces-Designing environments that feel physically and psychologically secure (Led by Juliette Yardley)

  • What does “safe” truly mean or you, and for others?
  • Breath and meditation to support inner reflection
  • Group reflection: what makes a workplace feel safe or unsafe?

  • Session 2: Contextual Values Activity: Identifying your priority values when creating a culture of safety (Led by Andrea L Evans)

  • A session identifying your key contextual values to consider when you are building a safe space
  • A moment to pause and reflect turn inwards and identify what is important to you in terms of the contextual values
  • Identiying a key sentence for your contextual values

  • Session 3: Sectioned to Success: Personal Experience (Led by Jack Nolan)

  • Jack Nolan is a rising motivational speaker from the North West, taking you through his rise in life, from sectioned to success. When Jack Nolan was 19, he was sectioned under the Mental Health Act for showing signs of psychosis. His hospital admittance meant he had to drop out of university and sacrifice his dream of working in TV and Film production – a career he had started to build up as a runner whilst studying. He spent 19 days in the hospital, but recovery was tough, and he was unable to find the strength to even move from the bed to the settee, let alone get washed, dress, or face the outside world. But he was determined to fight back and fight he did. In this session Jack shares his story and raises our awareness of Mental Health

  • Session 4: Finding Safety Within the Nervous System

  • Societal pressures and leadership stress
  • How the nervous system impacts our ability to feel and create safety
  • Practical tools to reduce stress and support regulation in yourself and others

Session 5: Connection through the Holistic Lens

  • The Building of The Connection Compass Framework
  • The Elements of The Connection Compass Framework
  • How the Compass supports a culture of wellness and an ability to thrive
