The New Research in Dress History Conference, 7-13 June 2021
Event Information
About this event
The Association of Dress Historians will host its annual New Research in Dress History Conference during 7-13 June 2021.
Please join us for this special conference, which will feature 118 speakers across seven days, virtually via zoom.
It will be a weeklong “festival” of dress history!
The 3-page conference schedule and the 146-page conference programme, which includes all speakers’ abstracts and biographies, are published here:
https://dresshistorians.org/june2021conference
During the weeklong conference, we will follow this daily schedule:
Every day at 11:30am, ticket-holders will receive an email containing a unique zoom link, which will enable access to that particular conference day.
Every day at 11:45am, the zoom room will open.
Every day at 11:58am, the welcome address will begin.
Every day at 12:00 noon, the first paper presentation will begin.
A new speaker will begin presenting every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour.
The conference time zone is BST (London, UK).
At the end of each conference day, there will be a 30-minute wine reception in small zoom breakout rooms, to enable networking and the exchange of ideas. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the daily wine receptions, but of course you can choose to opt out.
All of the conference presentations will be live; none will be recorded, due to privacy and GDPR issues.
Just one conference ticket entitles entry to the entire weeklong conference. Conference attendees can attend all of the presentations every day or dip in and out of the conference, as and when necessary.
Conference tickets can be purchased on any day or time---before or during the conference. There is no deadline by which to purchase tickets.
Thank you for supporting The Association of Dress Historians, our conference speakers, and scholarship in dress history.
Please direct any questions about this conference to Dr. Jennifer Daley at chairman@dresshistorians.org.
Tickets are non-refundable.
