An exclusive preview of Fontanella's brand new CD album, The Nightingale’s Response, ahead of their official launch at Greenwich Early Music Festival.
The UK's renowned recorder quintet will perform selections from their recording, based on the theme of nature and birdsong. The programme includes music by Purcell, Vivaldi, Saint-Saens, Kosma and Shearing, as well as medieval and renaissance music highlights including English ballad settings, and works by Machaut, Byrd and Monteverdi.
A true feast of music through the ages, performed on an array of instruments including their magnificent 15-piece renaissance recorder consort.
