At Royal Holloway we are offering students in Year 12 and 13 the opportunity to come to our beautiful campus for our No-nonsense personal statement workshop's. We will be running the same event twice, over two seperate days on Wednesday 23 and Wednesday 30 October 2019.

Starting at 11am, a professional member of staff from the Student Recruitment and Admissions team will guide you through how to write the perfect personal statement, revealing exactly what admissions tutors are looking for when reading your application. The session will be fun and interactive, providing guidance and support to students no matter what stage of writing you’re at.

For students who have not started writing their personal statement, this workshop will encouraged you to reflect on your own interests, passions and achievements, helping you create a strong starting point for writing your personal statement. For students who have already begun writing their personal statement, we will be offering 1-2-1 feedback sessions so that we can help you make improvements where needed.

The day will also include a Campus Tour led by our student ambassador team. At the end of the day there will be a Question and Answer session with our current student ambassadors who will be able to offer an insight into the life of a Royal Holloway student.

The personal statement surgery begins with registration in Gower and Wedderburn common room at 11am and will finish at 3pm. Please arrive for an 11.15am prompt start. Visitors are asked to bring a packed lunch or money to buy lunch on campus.

FAQs

Can I update, change or cancel my booking?

It is possible to amend, update or cancel your booking from within your Eventbrite 'My Events' page. We would appreciate it if this can be done as soon as you are aware of any changes so we can prepare accordingly.

If you are unable to amend your booking on Eventbrite for any reason please contact us on +44 (0)1784 276275 or email schools@royalholloway.ac.uk with the details of what you are trying to amend, update or cancel.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Public transport:

Egham railway station is the nearest station to our campus. It is approximately 1.2 miles from our Founder's Building and there are bus and taxi services between Egham railway station and our campus.

By car:

It is free to park on campus for the duration of your visit. We are, however, required to assign you a parking permit for the day. Therefore, please ensure you provide you vehicle registration details when you are booking your space. If you decide to drive after completing the booking form you can fill out this form at least two days prior to your visit. The parking permit will be issued to you automatically, so you don't need to display a permit in your vehicle.

If you are unsure which vehicle will be used, or you decide to drive last minute, please report to Founder's main security office (opposite Founder's reception) on arrival to register for parking.

When you arrive on campus, we recommend that you park in either car park 4 or 12. Please note that we cannot guarantee a parking space on the day of your visit.
